NASNA & NCH
street roots is a proud member of the North American Street Newspaper Association (NASNA) and the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH).
NASNA's mission is to support a street newspaper movement that creates and upholds journalistic and ethical standards while promoting self-help and empowerment among people living in poverty.
NASNA papers support homeless and very low-income people in 47 cities across the United States and Canada.
NCH's mission is to end homelessness. Toward this end, the National Coalition for the Homeless engages in public education, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing. They focus their work in the areas of housing justice, economic justice, health care justice, and civil rights.
