New Portland blog celebrates Women’s History Month

March is Women's History Month and the City of Portland is honoring the month with a new forum. The offices of Mayor Tom Potter, and the bureaus of Planning, Cable and Franchise Management, Water, and Management and Finance have created a diversity blog to collect stories about women's lives and roles in Portland's workplaces.

The blog will run through the month of March.

The city is inviting anyone to share their stories about women and nontraditional careers, juggling work and family obligations, inspiring women, famous or not-so-famous movers and shakers, or a vision for women coming into the workplace of the future.

Stories submitted before March 31 will be preserved in the City of Portland's archives as part of the ongoing history of women in Portland. Stories will be posted at www.portlandonline.com/diversity. Visit the Web site for more information, to submit your blog and to read the invitation to blog posted there now.
