(July 9) The Portland Mercury has reported that park rangers destroyed a homeless individuals belongings. Even more damning is the fact that the City of Portland has admitted to throwing the individuals belongings away "without what would seem to be appropriate notice."
A recent lawsuit in Fresno, California led to the city having to fork over $2.3 million dollars for similar actions.
Attorney's representing six-individuals on the streets have just filed another lawsuit against the Fresno Rescue Mission for similar actions.
In Seattle, the city claims to have thrown away an astonishing 21 tons of debris from a homeless camp. Advocates say the action by the city amounts to illegal search and seizure.
