Street Roots traveled to Eugene yesterday to spend the day with the activists around the state. The event held at Alton Baker Park was hosted by the McKenzie River Gathering and offered an array of music, food, fun and networking opportunities for groups that came.

The McKenzie River Gathering Foundation funds grassroots groups working on a range of issues, including poverty, war, racism, homophobia and environmental destruction. McKenzie River Gathering raises the funds it distributes out in grants. Since 1976, the foundation has given over $10 million in grants to create social change in Oregon.
Street Roots received 10k in 2009 from the foundation and has supported Street Roots over the years to engage individuals on the streets and the broader community to take action and become involved with social justice issues at a grassroots level.
