Oregon’s primary election takes place May 19, 2026. The voter registration deadline for the primary election has passed, but find information on how to check on your ballot or voter registration status here.

Ahead of the May 2026 primary elections Street Roots sent questionnaires to the candidates in the following races:

  • Governor
  • Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries Commissioner
  • Metro Council
  • State Senate
  • State House
  • U.S. Senate
  • U.S. House

Each questionnaire contained three questions and covered topics ranging from housing affordability to homelessness, labor and more. Candidates were limited to 150 words per answer. Candidates submitted written responses via email, and may be edited for clarity.

Street Roots did not include primaries in which a candidate is running unopposed, or in which there were no candidates at all. The following primaries are not included in our coverage issue:

  • Metro Council Auditor: Metro Auditor Bryan Evans (incumbent) is running unopposed
  • Metro Council District 2: Metro Councilor Christine Lewis is running unopposed
