There are also privately funded organizations that provide help during the cold provide shelter services. Severe Winter Weather Shelters are severe weather emergency shelters available only during a severe weather activation, based on temperatures of 25 degrees or below, forecasts of snow, or other life-threatening inclement weather conditions.
