Serve meals and drinks in the cafe. (M-Sat). Sort clothing, prep produce, or pack care kits.

Be a guest chef. (Must have food handlers card.)

Please note: COVID vaccinations and masks are required to volunteer on-site. Must be over the age of 14 to volunteer.

Supports children impacted by food insecurity. Provides sack lunches and food resources to kids and their families. Children can volunteer with parent/guardian.

On the ground assistance working alongside unhoused staff with supporting folks looking to have a shower. Sorting clothing and bedding exchange assistance. Inventory drop off. Seeking warm clothing, tents and unused hygiene supplies. Donations are accepted at Saint Marks Lutheran Church on Powell Ave from 10 a.m.-noon, Monday - Friday.

Children's winter clothing, shoes, and socks for students enrolled in any Neighbourhood House’s Child Care program. Food donations can be dropped off at Food Pantry (3445 SW Moss St, Portland 97219) during the following hours: Mondays: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesdays: 9 a.m.-noon, Wednesdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Items Needed: New items only. Hygiene items, seasonal clothes for all ages/genders, bedding/linens, kitchen items.

Portland Rescue Mission Burnside Shelter

PDX Free Fridge

PDX Free Fridge is a network of, well, free fridges and pantries, throughout the Portland area. People can donate or start their own free fridges by visiting https://sites.google.com/view/pdx-free-fridge for more information.

Operation Nightwatch

1432 SW 13th Ave. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

Operation Nightwatch provides "radical hospitality to alleviate the isolation experienced by those living on the streets." Volunteers serve coffee and supplies to unhoused Portlanders while fostering social connections.

Volunteer shifts occur every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:45-10:30 p.m.

JOIN "support(s) the efforts of individuals and families experiencing homelessness to transition into permanent housing." The organization focuses on people sleeping outside or in their car in the Portland area.

Transition Projects

Transition Projects offers a variety of services to homeless Portlanders, including shelter and meals. Volunteers can attend a virtual volunteer orientation before filling out a volunteer application.
