Resources for clothing, shelter, meals and health care in Multnomah County

If you're looking for volunteer opportunities to provide help during the cold and winter months visit the "Where to give help" section of the Winter Resource Guide.

Shelter

The City of Portland and Multnomah County fund year-round, winter and severe weather emergency shelters. There are also privately funded organizations that provide help during the cold provide shelter services. Anyone seeking shelter should contact 211info, reached by dialing 2-1-1. 211info will be available to identify available shelter and warming center resources between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Winter shelter is available nightly through March 31 at most locations. https://www.multco.us/care-when-its-cold

Severe Winter Weather Shelters are severe weather emergency shelters available only during a severe weather activation, based on temperatures of 25 degrees or below, forecasts of snow, or other life-threatening inclement weather conditions. Call 211 for info and transportation during a severe weather activation. To sign up for text alerts when severe weather is called in Multnomah County, text the word PDXSHELTER to 898211.
