Street Roots
by Street Roots Staff | 20 May 2014

Street Roots partnered with local company Whaleheart Productions and director Gabe Van Lelyveld to produce a promotional video to bring greater awareness to the Street Roots vendor program and our mission in the community.

For three days, April 24 to 27, an all-volunteer cast and crew of nearly 60 people documented the life of the Street Roots newspaper, from the printing press in McMinnville to vendors unloading and purchasing the papers in our office, to selling their papers to readers. The video features a choreographed dance under the Burnside Bridge, crosscut with the Street Roots community — vendors, volunteers, staff and supporters.

The video will premiere at Street Roots’ annual breakfast this October and will be available to view on YouTube and the Street Roots website thereafter. We are grateful to all the members of the community who donated their time, talent and energy to make this project happen.
